Welcome.

Welcome to the Chicago Seen. Here we will delve into all things Chicago Theatre. With the focus mainly on reviewing shows around the city, I will offer my unique opinions and thoughts on various shows in order to better help anyone reading this blog to figure out what shows to see, what's worth seeing and what's worth skipping and what companies are doing with their seasons.

A little about me, and what goods I have to back up my reviews: Well first off, I'm Allegra. Hello. I have an extensive background in performance and theatre, having performed from childhood through my teens and into my college years.I was lucky enough to study with some truly talented theatre people from all different areas including directors, actors, dramaturgs and designers who offered me different perspectives and lessons on the various aspects of theatre. Although my degree is in writing, I spent some time in college as a theatre major where I was once again immersed into the theatre world, learning from both my peers and my professors. I took all that knowledge and combined it with my writing career, and that's when I knew that theatre criticism was the perfect route for me. I love theatre and I love writing so why not combine the two and do what I love? I'm passionate about writing about theatre and I look forward to getting to do so here.

I will attending as many shows as possible throughout different theatre company's seasons seeing everything from experimental storefront works to larger upscale Broadway shows. I'm always open to suggestions and love hearing what people think I should see or why they think something is worth reviewing.

I'm looking forward to this theatrical adventure. Thanks for joining me, and here we go.
